The search for Miss Nigeria 2014 has begun, this was contained in a statement released by the organizers of the Miss Nigeria Event which holds annually. This was contained in a media release by Proud Media one of the pageant sponsors, the statement reads in part as follows,
“another beautiful journey in search of a worthy ambassador to endorse the beauty and prestige of the Nigerian brand’’.
It said that the search for this year’s queen, will take place simultaneously across the thirty-six states and the FCT, while the main screening will take place in four cities, namely Enugu, Lagos, Port-Harcourt and the FCT.
According to the organizers one of the requirements for aspiring ladies is possession of a Nigerian citizenship, aspirants must also be between the ages of 18-25 years, must be unmarried, not pregnant, must not have given birth before and must be a person of good character.
The prize for the winner includes, a cash sum of N5,000,000:00, a brand new SUV automobile, an apartment paid for a year, and an all-expense paid vacation and among other mouth watering prizes.The reigning queen is Miss Akudo Anyaoha, who represents Imo state, the Miss Nigeria platform whicc debuted in 1957, has over the year’s provided a platform where the ideals, dignity and virtues of the Nigerian woman can be appreciated and celebrated.
It will be recalled that the maiden ever Miss Nigeria beauty queen was Ms Grace Oyelude who was the time an employee of the conglomerate UAC, She used a part of her two hundred pounds prize money to travel to the UK where she enrolled in school and studied nursing.
